Literary Escape

A Story by Lyncoln (Lync) Pear
"

The words have reached up and removed the weight on my shoulders, my heart, and I can breathe.

"
When I organize my thoughts in order for them to coherently spill out of my pen and onto my paper, it truly takes everything in me and becomes me.
I get so lost in the words and feelings. I relive every experience I write down.
I laugh, I cry, I hold my breath, but most importantly I exhale
In the end I always exhale.
Exhale the ups, the downs, the best, the worst, the people, the places, the experiences.
And when I finally look up from my notebook, my computer, or today's Starbuck's receipt I'm scribbling on, I am able to finally see. The words have reached up and removed the weight on my shoulders, my heart, and I can breathe. If only for a few fleeting minutes, I am allowed the incredible luxury of living in the moment.
Quickly though new emotions, events, stories are created and slowly that burden begins to build, but I always look forward to my literary escape. It's what gets me through the day.
