Impaired Vision

Impaired Vision

A Poem by Mary Jain
"

It's a poem where I would like to talk about how we pretend to be blind about some things happening around us.

"
On a Joyful Evening in the Beach,
With My Family around to Cherish
The Sky, The Sun and The Waves,
All are Fighting to Spread the Colors

What a Wonderful Moment to be in,
Such a Magical Treat for My Eyes
The Waves are Coming one after the other
Carrying the Golden Lights to the Shore

I can See My Car in the Parking Spot,
And All the Cards are Safe in My Wallet
A Flash of Thought Caught My Mind,
How Blessed I'm to be Thankful to God.

A Lady with a Baby on her chest
With a Smell of Her Dirty Clothes
Walking the Long Beach with a Hope
A Penny is All that Makes her Happy

I was Busy taking the Pics, to Make
Most of those Beautiful Moments
She Just Passed by Me, Luckily
I got a 'Nice Click' of them both

I feel like you contrasted both the good and bad things happening around us and how we're blind to both. We don't take enough time to notice the beauty of nature even when we're right next to it. However, we don't take the time to notice the poverty of others, like the woman and her baby, who for them a penny is enough. Really thought-provoking, thank you!

You are correct dear Mary. Easy to forget the real world when we have comfort. I liked the story in the poetry. You gave a glimpse of the real world near. We rarely can see. Thank you dear poet for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Glad to know you have enjoyed my poem :)
We see what we want to see, because we think what we want to think, like aiming a camera and snapping a picture of something. Beauty surrounds us but inner beauty does too though we never really notice. Nicely penned.

Nature causes us to reflect on things that we are thankful for. Also the water is very forgiving and seems to wash all of our inequities away.
