I felt Angel Micheal

I felt Angel Micheal

A Poem by Mary Helda
"

He led me through

"
At a time when i was the epitome of sadness
When my tears could sing the blues....
Tears no better than my cracked lips

The Herculean task of my agony trying to make love to beatitude...
And so they agreed to disagree
I was left to my own fate

But i whispered a prayer to GOD-
For Archangel Micheal

He looked into my eyes, saw the terror
Why!!!! I felt him
Delving deep into my heart and life
Building up all the broken pieces
Fighting a losing battle: but VANQUISHED

A smile redeemed...

Angel Micheal; my gift from GOD.....

Mary, I love your poem, I am a Christian and feel close to Michael the Arch Angel. My son is named Michael and I pray daily for the Lord to protect my family with His Precious Blood and surround us with St.Michael and his guardian angels. Thank you for your powerful testimony. Richie B.

Happy to know!
I really like the power, the fervor behind this - it's obvious a lot of deep personal feelings went into it. But I will say that this poem seems to fall into the trap that so many do: a lot of 'big' words. I completely agree that big, complicated words have their place, but the trouble is that sometimes they don't convey as much meaning or emotion as a few smaller, more descriptive words. For instance, 'melancholy' is a poetry-sounding word, but what does it actually mean? It can mean lots of different things for different people, but what does it specifically mean to the speaker in your poem? 'Anhydrous' is another big word - it sounds a little too clinical to provide value in your line. Try parched, dry, cracked, etc to convey the image of those lips.

Lovely. You use some unusual words to good affect. It is amazing how we have these 'other world' experiences. Well written.

Mary,
There are many ways for the fight.
The defense/attack are the famous ones
But for a writer nothing is so important than words...words....
Its the effective weapon. I dont know how our ancestors managed when language was not invented. Quipu was an attempt of course.
ANY HOW YOU MANAGED IT AS ABOVE.
The fear is removed when you are creating something. I know from Uganda you can tell about it than me

Carry on......................

Oh... Such deep faith towards God. I truly like how you played with the words and made used of their contrasting effects. Strong and powerful - these are the words that describe your poem. Wonderful! Great job! :)

Thanks for sharing this one :)
