Death broke my heart twiceA Poem by Mary Heldathe nightmare that has kept me awake for days
Help!
Aloud came the yelp Ripping through me like pieces of glass I could see her weary face void of delight A restless broken soul wilting to the colour of night Frantically moving her hands in the filthy muddy river as she drifted away into nothingness Clearly depriving us of togetherness Suddenly i awoke to the bloodcurdling sound of an owl Tears cascading down my cheeks With only the darkness to hold me And the loneliness to wipe away my tears Are you still wondering around? Did you go to heaven? I pray you see the light, mommy © 2016 Mary HeldaFeatured Review
