CLUELESS
A Poem by Mary Fioratti
(in this picture my mom is holding me)
CLUELESS
I came to the world faster than expected eyes fixed at my mother's face her warm arms hugging me
Clueless I grew up learning values tripping over rules embracing truths
I found you on my way and understood giving changing feelings and truths learning to love
I became a mother and in this learning I gave my greatest love the best of me the juice of my heart
Clueless I have searched
for instinctive emotions painting life in many colors mixed inside of my dreaming heart
I’ve lived over half a century drinking life’s water searching for myself
I feel a great calm and this found peace rules my days with some fantasies
Clueless I saw the wrinkles on my face the changes in my body and the scars in my soul
but I recognize for now
that I accept and love me Much more than before

I would not change a bit of my life - past and present. There were times that I wanted to change a lot of things, erase and do ever again. Today I figured out that my mistakes made me a better person.
Thank you for reading my poem!

Mary--this is just lovely!!! And as we get older, it seems to me, that there is greater breadth and depth to the love we bring to others and to ourselves---so good to read your work again!
