CLUELESS

 I came to the world
faster than expected
eyes fixed
at my mother's face
her warm arms hugging me

Clueless
I grew up learning values
tripping over rules
embracing truths

I found you
on my way
and understood giving
changing feelings and truths
learning to love

I became a mother
and in this learning
I gave
my greatest love
the best of me
the juice of my heart

Clueless
I have
searched

for instinctive emotions
painting life in many colors
mixed inside of
 my dreaming heart

I’ve lived over half a century
 drinking life’s water
searching for myself

I feel a great calm
and this found peace
rules my days
with some fantasies

Clueless
I saw the wrinkles on my face
the changes in my body
and the scars in my soul

but I recognize for now

that I accept and love me
Much more than before

Author's Note

Mary Fioratti
I would not change a bit of my life - past and present. There were times that I wanted to change a lot of things, erase and do ever again. Today I figured out that my mistakes made me a better person.
Thank you for reading my poem!

' We're clay made and moulded by life ', someone wrote, and i think it's very true. Surely if we have any feelings whatsoever we're touched by all the experiences, people and places we've ever come across. To live untouched by life would mean we're made of stone and have wasted time, the brief time we have on earth.

Your poem is a true thought nudger ..

You're more rare than you would think...
Nicely put together and spoken.

I like the way this piece escalates, very interesting direction you've taken your reader in. Nicely described and nice formatting too. Great work.

What a beautiful journey across your life to this moment.. the good and bad, all mingling to make you who you are now... and giving you courage to face whatever comes... A lifting song for all of us to learn...

Very nice and wise thoughts Mary, Oh I love this write, I wished more could look as this at themselves, and treasure any moment, of the past. Without that, you simply can't build a future. Mistakes are good, it's so human. Perfectly imperfection is a part of us. Very beautiful, words, Learning is a lifetime worship. And funny enough today I had a good conversation with my mom on the phone about this. She's still learning too, And this is a bliss. Thank you for sharing your words and thoughts dear! Many Hugs! Very nice to read. The poem may be clueless but wonderful to think and read.

nice thoughts Mary...funny how clueless we are even when we are past growing up...the adventure of life never ends...it just gets better...your poem has so much to give and it shows so much of yourself...the most important part...

I accept and love me

I agree with you whole-heartedly, Mary! Mistakes change a person for the better (at least that's what I'd like to think!). Without them, how would we learn? And live better? And love more? Thank you for a beautiful, thought-provoking piece.

The circle of life is endless, passing our knowledge to the kids is a natural progression... even then we all learn new things on our own as the world changes... and no matter how old we get we are always learning.
