A Poem by MaryCherrieJane

You can't handle my truths
The words that I'd say to you
Letters strung into sentences
That'd strike pain in you

I'm silent
Remain quiet
Because it's too much
I've had to fight it

Bite back tears
The ghosts of
Old fears
Your jokes and words
Cause the insecure
In me
My insecurity

There's no cure
To the feelings you feed
So I cry, always inside
The storm deep in me

I wanted to be free
Released from doubts
In Your heart I made a house
Bricks pulled down from my foundation
To make this creation

Yet I always find myself in this situation...
