Technicolour

A Poem by Mary Bosworth

Gliding through life
on a magical pen
I return to my daydreams
again and again
and record them,
for me, not for posterity.
And if I do not write for myself
then for whom would it be?
If I wrote to please others
it wouldn't sound like me...
and it'd be simply a reflection
from a fragmented mirror.

I write when my world stops listening.
I write to the child in me,
I write to set her free.
I tell her she's  alright.
I say to her:
"Get out your purple pen, write."

That is so aptly put down... The writing loses its gleam when we stop writing for ourselves and make it for others..

Simply Beautiful Writings. Accomplished Writer sounds like the only reason I write is for that same reason and to clear my head of the crap that builds up in it and must be released.

I love the last line here!
The child in all of us needs to surface once and awhile.

"I write to the child in me,
I write to set her free."
This is a gentle take on a piece of your identity, flawless in execution...Bravo!

You are the most important person when it comes to writing, it should always come from within you.
Beautifully penny. :)

I believe my muse is actually the child within me, for she's the one who gives me the validation I seek. This is wonderful poetry, Mary...

"And if I do not write for myself
then for whom would it be" ...I agree, wholeheartedly!
