if I cover my eyes you can't see me

if I cover my eyes you can't see me

A Poem by Mary Bosworth

So I haven't told you yet
I'm falling apart again.
Not a major evisceration
mind you, so don't panic.
I haven't hit defcon 4.
Not in the red yet.
But the idiot lights are going off.
I think I've got my desperation well hidden
it shouldn't make the major news.
Just a few pieces falling off is all.
"beat my dead horse"
is functioning intermittently
nowadays.
I've seen cracks in the
"I'll take whatever scraps you have
just to have something" case.
My "shut up and just take it" pile
is almost empty.
OH yeah,
the "take a chance" feature
fell off too.

I'm looking for it now.

Brilliantly portrayed the ordinary life of an individual. We are fading in the masses and missing opportunities for ourselves. Loved the writing

There's something fresh about this...something ordinary you made extraordinary! Cleverly done, Mary!

Very clever lines here. So often people expect us to go ahead and let them walk all over us without any repercussions, and then don't understand why we bite back.
