Myth

Myth

A Poem by Mary Bosworth

Well, for whatever cause
There was no answer
So write I did
A catharsis per se
Of an interest that was not to be . . .

So alike
Yet very different
Two sides in one
Loving
Indifferent . . .

The wall goes up
The distance is safe
To be loving or be guarded
Which shall the loved ones’ see . . .

A game of interest it is not
For a mystic connection is rare indeed
In true bonding there is no greed
To share is to gain
Self-interest is a sure lost . . .

Acceptance is harmony
Change is impossible
Awareness is rewarding
“Manage” is the key
Motivation is self
Effort and Sincerity are priceless . . .

Reason without logic
Is wishful thinking
Acceptance without reality
Is fantasy . . .

An effort was made
The questions were asked
The answer was none
Excellent clue that it was done . . .

There's a distinct eloquence you've captured so brilliantly within this poem. Reading it was like walking a tight rope. At the starting point would be fantasy at the end point would be reality, yet making it across would define the validity of this clever myth. Great work. A mesmerizing write & read. :)

I feel like you were able to fit a whole bunch of wonderful sayings and lessons into one poem. Very nice job, and it had a wonderful flowing feel to it as I read.
