What is to be said about a boy who keeps the truth to himself?
One thing’s for sure: eternal ride to the unknown, that’s what he’s always struggled for his life to be.

Born in a small town near Versailles, late summer of ’97, Claude (Chevalier) was given to his family as the third and last child. His parents, French couple that was no longer in the light of youth, and has never been bathed in wealth, could barely manage the daily life for themselves and their growing children. Camille, the only daughter, and the eldest one, showed strong interest for school, but couldn’t afford further education. The middle child, Candide, was as optimistic as his name would make you think he is. He, however, relied on physical work.

To meet them all closer, would not be of Claude’s liking, so we can turn our heads to the youngster (despite his protests);

Name a mixture of two great artists. Chosen by the boy himself.

Claude. Cloud.

Emotions a mixture of sun and snow.

Full of extremes and contradictions, he has always been a magnet for troubles. Although sensitive inside, he’d come off as aggressive. A creative mind of a liar desperate for his true story to be told. A bullied bully, hunted predator.

Ten year old spending nights alone.

Twelve year old catching late evening rides, crying for his home, but avoiding getting there.

By fourteen, Claude was known as The Hitchhiker. Temporary involvement with strangers planted a sense of importance into his developing persona. Just as it goes with any sort of a hobby, it required skills and improvement. Profit, even. Plain rides became chattery, chattery became long talks became quests for other kinds of cheap thrills. He had started with petty crime. It has never been about the prey, but no long passed before he was caught and St. Julian's reformatory became his new home.

A bit before his seventeenth birthday, Claude was free to travel again.

This intense description, I loved it. I am sure next chapter is bringing something very interesting about Claude life. I am surprised no one has cared enough to go through this chapter, I actually saw second chapter and then reached here... This looks like one of the tough type of guy to deal with it. Allow me, to read another chapter and review accordingly. However, the beginning is powerful enough to get your attention.
