Seven Sins to rule us all

Seven Sins to rule us all

A Poem by burnhouse
"

I tried to make it everything seven, because of a writing prompt I ran into, so it's a wee bit... I don't know. Something. Too simple?

Very poignantly honest and fresh. Anytime we expose ourselves to another we risk rejection and we take on the possibility of getting addicted to having them around just like any drug or addictive substance but what they don't tell you in the fairy tales is that "happily ever after" often ends in divorce and sometimes you're left alone in the dark at night wishing they were there to hold and to touch and to slate that desire that they had so selfishly sparked within you to start with but by now it's too late. You are alone. And as you're last line so wonderfully expressed by denying what we did wrong we deny who we've become and turn into something we are not. Very thought provoking and well written piece! Good job! :)
