Living in the Underworld

Living in the Underworld

A Poem by burnhouse

I was forced
to accept this... this world
like
Persephone was forced
to accept that... that world

I was forced
to accept the sounds of people's bitter words
mistaken
for
the barks and growls
of Hellhounds

I was forced
to accept cold looks
colder
than the blade
of Reaper's
scythe

I love finding depth in poetry by very young writers because it really can be so raw. The darker element is profound illustrates your meaning beautifully.

Svaka cast.

Aw, thanks. :D
Ah, Persephone - I've always been fascinated with her story. This is an excellent poem that sticks to the theme of the underworld very well.

"I was forced
to accept cold looks
colder
than the blade
of Reaper's
scythe"

I absolutely loved this stanza. Great work!
