A Poem by Mary Gonzales

I seek inspiration

I am a grave robber
Or archeologist
Searching
Through mud and rocks
For the good bits,
Nuggets that shine and blind
maybe I am a prospector
In search of that sweet vein
Untouched

Yet if I find the broken bones, relics
Or even strike the motherlode
Will it be enough to weave the hollow words
Over and under
And back again?

I seek inspiration
