Never Neverland

Never Neverland

A Poem by Honey-Bee

I have been to Neverland and back
I went over the bridge and past the tracks
I followed my heart to fun and games
And decided that I needed some fame
I played the games with morbid pirates
I had Tinkerbell as my everlasting guidance
She is a bright little thing, oh yes she is
She tends to fly by as quick whiz
She sprinkles children with picksy dust
She keeps them young as she earns their trust
I am not sorry to say that I am going back
I am now a resident there I will not unpack
If you want to find me you must fly over the bridge
Through the fireflies and gall midge
They won't bite you don't worry about that
Just fly over the bridge and past the tracks

This is one of those places that children dream about. I was inspired to write this gift song-poem for you to keep as your own: It’s in seven syllable 1/0/1/0/1/0/1 with “1” an accent and “0” a non-accent to make it sing:

Neverland

O’er the bridge and pass the tracks
on our way to Neverland,
there’s a place where nothing lacks,
a gem studded golden strand.

We’ll fill sacks upon our backs
with gifts from this Wonderland.
We’ll eat snacks from candy shacks
as we travel hand-in-hand.

I see in your author note that you sometimes write for children. This is delightful and certainly brings out the inner child in me. Great rhyming and a nice story. Penny

As a fan of Peter Pan I have love for this poem. I love the imagery here and the magical elements it posesses.
