Coming upon a wishing well I soon grew compelled, So I threw my penny in but it jump out again It landed in my hand right where I stand Not believing what I saw, I had to drop my jaw Compelled to win the game, I threw it in again This time it span around And came back and hit the ground The well didn't want it both times It was obviously mine So I took it down to the store but I dropped it on the floor It bounce into the penny tin So the manager had to grin He looked real close at what he had And then said, "Hey, this penny ain't half bad We discovered it was gold Of a very fine carat, I was told So my wish came true you see Now I am happy as can be. So next time you see a wishing well It is okay to be compelled.

I like the good ending. Good when pennies can turn to gold. I enjoyed the flow of the story leading to a happy ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
