koo koo kachoo (the stepfather)

koo koo kachoo (the stepfather)

A Poem by Mary C

Red faced
and perspiration soaked
he melted with each rage
into a waxy mound of flesh

Never a minimalist,
anger spewed
along with foaming white balls
of spittle on dry fat lips

His attacks raw,
he attempted to eat our self esteem
and suck marrow from tender bones.

Rather than ferocious
I found his demeanor humourous,
a cartoon caricature of a man
I giggled
imagined him , a blubbery walrus
tumbling from iceberg, into arctic water

His obese body floundering
and flopping around wildly
in yet another failed attempt
to establish his footing

Quite imagining the picture of the old man...Great descriptions...Hilarious but I laughed at the "walrus" part, haha! Nice poem!

This started me off with a fearful picture, of a terrible mad man, trying to attack an innocent child and ended with me laughing at the picture of an overweight walrus trying to survive. Defintely a brillant piece in my opinion. :)

Haha, this made me laugh and feel terrible all at the same time. I could definitely see every blubbery gesture from the step-father, and the imaginative child definitely made the piece much more light-hearted.

Well penned; nice job!

I can picture it all in my head, turning from ugly to funny in the face of self-preservation. Well written
