Give Me LoveA Poem by MarvillissThe story of a girl that feels unloved.
She stares at the her pain reliever
The sharpest knife in her kitchen and a container of salt. Before she knows what's happening, The knife glides across her wrist. Mauve coloured liquid flows out her separated skin. The knife glides over again. And again. And again. And again. But the pain is still there. Dropping the knife in the sink, She wets her wrist. Then she sprinkles salt on her slashes. Wincing in pain, She rubs it in. Tears pouring out her eyes, As the salt solution drips off her skin. Clenching her teeth, She adds more salt. A painful cry escapes her lip. After feeling That's all the pain she deserves, She puts on an indifferent face. And walk out the kitchen, Like there's nothing wrong. And everyone believes it. The next day, The pain surfaces. Leaving her in unbearable tears. Without hesitation, She drags herself to the kitchen. Put her usual pain reliever won't work. Nope not time. She needs something stronger. Puts a mug in the microwave, And places a steel spoon waiting outside the door. The spoon dips in the the hot water, And spins it around in the mug. The hot steal presses on the already closed wounds from yesterday. She cries out in pain, But that is still not enough pain. She leans over the leans over the sink, And takes the mug in her hand. Then she swiftly pours the hot water over her wounds, The ones from yesterday. She cries out again. But it's louder than the last time. Even with her wrist stinging in pain, It's still not enough. Salt is sprinkled And more hot water added. She screams in pain, And a sob escapes her clenched her teeth. Tears blurring her vision, Wrist stinging, She hums her favorite song. "Give a little time to me or burn this out, We'll play hide and seek to turn this around, All I want is the taste that your lips allow, My, my, my, my, oh give me love, My, my, my, my, oh give me love, My, my, my, my, oh give me love, My, my, my, my, give me love". But there's one part she sings, Or shouts. And it leaves in tears. "Love me, Love me, Love me. Give me love, Give me love. Love me Give me love". © 2014 Marvilliss |
