TakenA Poem by Benedict Mdluli"A honorary to my friend's daughter who was lost after two months of celebrating her first year birthday, she succumbed to negligence"Couldn’t you have waited a day or two? Tell me to prepare my goodbyes for the departing, The departure was awful unacceptable, sorrowful. I wonder how the arrival and the destination is. I know we all destined to travel the same road she Traveled.
I am a man of faith for goodness has been promised as As a result of living righteously on earth but how can one Live righteous in this world since the whole earth is painted In unrighteousness, how can one roll in dust wearing white And come out still clean as before they started rolling.
I came to the world a baby righteous and my blame Was that of the forefathers in the Garden of Eden. I was thrown unto the wolves as a prey but ended up a wolf Myself in my defense not to be devoured by my predators.
How can one apple survive the rot if it’s in the midst of Many rotten ones? Well with that in mind I don’t know her ending too as I Didn’t know what her feet set before her and how swift she Was in doing wrong over right, but I pray we meet again when The time is right. I believe if she did well and refused to be dusted and remained Pure, God washed her cleaner than she could ever have been, We loved her, we miss her, she was the pillar, but she had to Be taken. © 2016 Benedict MdluliReviews
