Cry you a riverA Poem by Benedict MdluliJust a piece after a long time not writing anything I felt like throwing something out there.Cry you a river My heart is still in shambles since the day you walked away, The pain is as sharp as needles; as a spear penetrating through the rib cages. The scars on the outside of the heart became visible to the world. I was left shattered and hurt, but you walked away I cried for you day and night But the pain wasn’t leasable as property I would have shared the burden with someone else. The picture of you walking away was not erasable. Till this day when I remember the day it’s like someone is Placing needles all over my Heart.
I made you my whole world but to you I was a drop in the sea, You were my abundance promised And overflowing, but to you I was the bread for many, In the midst of all the challenges I chose to Love and cherish you and you never saw to appreciate it.
All you needed you got, All I had I lost. My dignity waived to my enemies. They Danced and drank on my sorrows. You rejoiced when you heard I was down and showed no remorse You were the demonic angel as you appeared as a sheep while a hyena. Goodbye my friend, They never last long like you and their memory too. Even to me, Your memory lasted till the day I cried you a river. © 2016 Benedict MdluliReviews
