The Gaze & The Gape

The Gaze & The Gape

A Poem by Benedict Mdluli

The gaze and the gape.
The treasure with no factor.
The place with no gates.
I desired her sweet nectar.
Love was in the air.
It was only time matter.

I told her I loved her,
She smiled and sighed.
I called a spade a spade.
Life is full of enormous
complexity nothing is just
a shade of a shade.

She afforded me a gaze
I felt like I have missed grace.
She said that's a teapot calling
kettle black.

I said no it's a blade.
She believed it was all fake.
I knew I had to work.

Take the past to rest.
Pave the way for the future,
with a beautiful rake.

All I need is comfort,
no character distort &
Love, Peace & Harmony.
