Silence In The Mansion

Silence In The Mansion

A Poem by Benedict Mdluli
"

Love shouldn't die people should always work on it.

"

The poor wish they were rich, the rich wish they

were poor. It’s a crow in the snow, hot as a

pot on the stove. It came dressed as love but it

was lust, now we exposed to the cold because it

didn't last. Fashion is all we got, all is gone hope

is lost.

We no longer talk; it’s winter in the house. Summer

only comes when they are visitors. Where did we go

wrong, I thought we had it all. We have got them all

fooled in public. We live a lie we hide behind

our smiles but deep down we know it’s silent in the

mansion.

We are strangers at heart enemies in the physical,

We used to shine like stars & it looked perfect and

biblical maybe that’s the reason. We needed to be

like a moon shine at once with togetherness probably

it could have been better.

We have all made our blunders fell in the gutters,

but we can’t stay debtors to each other. I believe

we stronger than this hold my hand let’s rise again

and get rid of the silence in the mansion.
