Dried up GlueA Poem by Annalisa (Marujuust)Written before the publishing date, sometime in late AprilI see he wants to take all All the green hues from my eyes See him run down the wrong hall As some cry to grow his size Well he’s looking for a doll Who will hide under his guise Said he’s into the oddballs But only the ones who apply Blood in different shades of blue Seeping through three onion peels First peel I saw was the glue And then he showed the left heel But the last lost all it’s hue Today I woke up to feel A layer of dried up glue Peeling slowly off my heel Thought I found a person Who couldn’t read the book Who’s spine wasn’t portioned To fit the ideal look Kneeling to coercion From these baby-faced hooks Subtle berate Back out the gate Again, the hate He’s still a weight I was a weight He’s still a weight Miss being a weight Guess I stretched your eyes too wide Showed you all the bugs I found Easier to cut the tie Then get dirty on my ground Too afraid of Mr. Hyde But he never came around Until you pulled back your dime And found it’s no longer round You can go ahead and throw Piss shade roses through my crate If it helps your status quo And the thorns indent my face Watch the albatross turn crow Because I’ve choked too much bait Such a burden to your show Want my envy but not my hate Thought I found a person Who couldn’t read the book Who’s spine wasn’t portioned To fit the ideal look Kneeling to coercion From these baby-faced hooks Weak, double x’d No need to flex A p***y complex F*****g pencil-neck Lacking respect Too much effect I’ve got no effect I got a note that day Glue, on a shoe, in pen Said he’s going away But he’ll be back as my friend But he drowned on the way I just wanted to make amends (*4)
