HumbugA Poem by Annalisa (Marujuust)Lyrics Written March 2nd, 2022It seems the exhibitionist Takes advantage of what they’ve missed She only craves authority To cover insecurity The fake superiority Contradicts the search for pity But when her face begins to crack She gathers up her plastic pack So when she’s hit with starvation She bends to victimization She wants to show her stains But only the ones named That face Molded of my clay Blurred in foggy gray Surreal to my dismay Don’t think Deny the humbug Too heavy to lug The mirror’s looking smug
I left my mark on the sculpture Just mad I tainted her culture She’s happy to display some stains But only the ones with the names Fakes instability for clout But I’m the one who’s acting out Her iron fist is made of glass And I'm the scapegoat for the cracks She wants to show her stains But only the ones named That face Molded of my clay Blurred in foggy gray Surreal to my dismay Don’t think Deny the humbug Too heavy to lug The mirror’s looking smug And I can’t tell if the braggart Is just a made-up counterpart Made from a sensitive vision With too many failed revisions To heal my hurt autocracy And seal it with hypocrisy I’m scared to recognize the void So I think I’ll just be paranoid I’ll scoff at those with names But only the ones stained That face Molded of my clay Blurred in foggy gray Surreal to my dismay Don’t think Deny the humbug Too heavy to lug The mirror’s looking smug She wants to show her stains But only the ones with names I want to scoff at names But only the ones with stains (-2) © 2022 Annalisa (Marujuust) |
