My Sanctuary

My Sanctuary

A Poem by Soresuke Maru

My Sanctuary

Oh, how hard it is to find a way

Life kept leading me astray

While for others it's nothing but child's play

Which puts my mind in disarray

Cursed was the day you ran away

Now even more than ever before

You, the one I truly adore

Reminiscent the day you knocked on my door

Now nothing but remains of myself on the floor

Nothing but a weeping heap of blood and gore

For countless days that's how it seemed

My restless mind in need to be redeemed

Touching visions of your face, which gleamed

Long, long before rivers of tears endlessly had streamed

Tell me, was that everything I'd ever dreamed?

Sitting in my silent room, there it is, a streak of hope

Needless the confessions to the pope

For nothing but enlightenment I grope

No matter we weren't deemed to elope

The countless times we kept running down the slope

Good that there will always be a place

Something else that we can chase

With a happy grin centered in my face

Continuing life's greatest race

But what about its pace?

Where to go on with the show?

How many fields are there yet to plow?

Till being struck by Cupido's arrow?

Casting away the clouds of sorrow

Let us pray for a better tomorrow

Alas! Now I can see it

A heavenly maiden restoring my wit

Oh daughter of the Gods to whom I fit

Angel of angels pulling me from deepest pit

Now that all the candles are lit

Hailing for the land of the Rising Sun

Finally having nothing more to shun

Sharing but each other's greatest fun

Overflowing feelings bursting like a bullet from a gun

Was every day once so weary

Every night just dark and dreary

But since you are here my lovely fairy

To an end the times with people lairy

Together we'll build our sanctuary
