The Bleeding Tree

The Bleeding Tree

A Poem by Martiya Daman
"

What my drawing done 2 years ago says in a poem

"
The Bleeding Tree
Ah, the village heard of a tree with heart,
The goverment made a chart,
Millions of piles of bills,
Idea to take it out and chill!

They rushed to the forest,
And took arrows and nails, smallest...
And just tortured one tree and quitted...
All of them fitted.

They thought it was fake and left,
There WAS a heart they forgot to theft,
It stayed in the trunk,
Only blood it drunk.

It rained, other trees perfectly fine,
It was bleeding, still life had time,
Complete torture,
Forever stayed for it disorder.

Wow this was great Martiya! "The Bleeding Tree" presents a darker theme of greed and the consequences of exploitation. The government's misguided attempt to harness the tree's "heart" is a metaphor for humanity's often destructive impact on nature. The imagery of the tree bleeding despite the other trees being fine is a powerful visual, emphasizing the long-term effects of such actions. The poem serves as a cautionary tale and a commentary on environmental issues, wrapped in a simple yet haunting narrative.

Your verses are thought-provoking and showcase a range of emotions and topics. Keep sharing your poetic musings! They're truly a pleasure to read.

This feels like metaphor for the state of the country right now...the lopsidedness of the rich vs. the poor....
the trees of love being cut down by hate.
Really like the depth of this.

Thanks for your lovely review, Jacob.
Wow Martiya! What a beautiful poem! It tells a haunting story about exploitation and cruelty, using the image of a bleeding tree to symbolize suffering and neglect. The contrast between the tree’s pain and the indifference of those around it is powerful. The tone feels eerie and tragic, making the message even more impactful. This is a wonderfully written and deeply thought-provoking piece.
