Peace In Darkness

Peace In Darkness

A Poem by Martiya Daman
"

A perfect night where it rains across the fields, and flowers get rid of their thirst.

"
Peace in Darkness
I layed on my bed,
I looked out of my window,
The water flowers fed,
Out I tip - toed.

I open my curtains,
Look at the maize and rice fields,
More than certains,
A drop on my head that I feeled.

I opened my eyes wide,
I saw gentle rain,
Ants under leaves they hide,
Thirst gone in flowers veins.

Dark and dark,
Yet night was peace,
Water on head marks,
A weather I pleased.

Some simple but effective metaphors are included here, and it has mostly been made to rhyme.

"Gentle" in this context, refers to the gentle "sound" of light rain. So, technically; you cannot "see" something which is gentle in english. In England, we don't use the word gentle in that way. But, no matter.

I can relate to the tranquility and peace of darkness, particularly when lying down to sleep in my bed at night. With my window slightly open, I like it when I can sense a freshness in the air; from the refreshing aromas.

The aromas are subtle rather than strong, occasionally caught by a gentle breeze when it drifts through. Lawn grass, flowers and other plants; each add a tiny bit of scent to the night air.

Keep writing, and pleasant dreams tonight; when finally going to sleep in your bed. No doubt, after another busy day. I know how it feels, Martiya.
