Something I Never Expected (Part 1)A Story by Martiya Daman
One sunny day in school, on a Wednesday, it was first period. That was STEAM. We packed our fruit boxes and made straight line, going to the lab. I think it was October or November, and everybody was running. But I made a decision not to. When we arrived, Sir was standing. After like 2 minutes I guess, he started the class. He said that he will be introducing a thing called Microbit. I was pretty used to sounds like "Micro", "LEDS" and "Bit" because my parents are engineers, and I tried learning about some stuff and know like 1% Python, like one line of code.
Something like this: A= 10 B= 35 C= A+B print (C) When sir showed the Microbit, I was not really that impressed. Others weren't too, obviously because it's there first time seeing a thing. I was really bad at STEAM for some reason but clearly noticed Leds. Infact there was a 5 by 5 grid of Leds. That still didn't impress me a little. He told everyone that the logo can feel touch and hear, and at the back there is a lot of chips, an USB, an antenna, a microphone, a reset button, a battery, a speaker, a processer, an accelerometer, a compass and a pin. Now I was getting impressed. A thing smaller and thinner than a credit card can fit those stuff? Well, I knew some things could do that. But when he turned on the screen and went to Microsoft, opened a Microbit app and pressed on new project. In the last second, I saw script area. Guessed it, it was a device you could code on. I guessed by the Leds it could show some illustrations, and you had to use some sort of cable to connect the work to the masterpiece. Those were the only things I guessed. But there were more. It could make music, it can do something on vibrations, it could be used to play games, click photos and even count your steps or be a watch!
