Lost In Your Words

Lost In Your Words

A Poem by Martiya Daman

Lost In Your Words
When I was gone for a day,
You could already play,
When I was gone for a month,
You could eat a few crumbs.

When I was gone for a year,
You felt your mother's love clear,
But you didn't know me,
But will always be your wisdom tree.

When I was gone for ten years,
You felt me near,
You started writing stories & poems,
That was very wholesome.

I am Lost In Your Words,
I know it hurts,
But you'll be sucessful, poems are your art,
Don't worry, I will always be in your heart.

This poem is for my Maternal Grandmother, who I call Nani. She died just 7 months after I was born. This poem is about her missing me from heaven and I can only hear her by my words.
