"

My chess life at the age of 8-9

"
I loved books. I also grew fonder of chess. Once in grade 3, when I was 8 and I was in my class called "Maurya", I had to go for my badminton class. I chose badminton for indoor and basketball for outdoor sports. But it was cancelled for some reason. My teacher told me to stay in my class. I sat with my badminton friends talking to each other.

I was a girl who wanted to follow rules, so I didn't talk to them and read my English textbook. The chess sir walked into our class along with children opted for chess. Their class usually happens in "Alexander", but they sometimes do in "Maurya". Before all that, a week ago, the chess sir said to all the children in my class, "I am going to play a video about chess. You don't need to watch it if you're not in chess, but you may do as you want."

I watched the video. Later back home, I watched the video about maybe 5-10 times. So that day when all the chess kids were in our class and their teacher were in the room, he turned on the projector and went to a website, he arranged the chess board in some way and asked everyone, "What is the best move here for white?". I stood up and said the answer, although I wasn't in chess.

I don't remember the question, but I remember that the answer had something with the knight. Sir looked at me. He asked my name. I replied to him and told my name, and he wrote it down the attendance. he made me play a match with a kid. Two months later, I signed a form and showed to my badminton ma'am and chess sir. I was officially in chess.
When I became 9, I joined class 4. I am still there though, and my class is called "Princeton". I opted for chess again and basketball. Now I am good at dribbling the ball and sir has known me for 3 years. His name is Sharad sir.

Anyways, one day, the chess sir told everyone in the class, "whoever wins in their match gets selected for chess trials." I started the match, and I defeated my opponent. But I didn't know there were two matches. Although the next match came and was really stressful, I won! I got selected.
After 2 weeks of trials, my teacher "Aditi ma'am" sent me a message saying I got selected for Interhouse chess competition. My house was yellow in the start.

After a few days, it was time. I had to play 3 matches. There were three people in each team, but yellow only had two because someone was absent! Well, I lost 2 matches, but my teammate could win so we got extra credit. Here are the results:

Red: 12
Blue: 8
Yellow: 3.5
Green: 3

We won 3rd position! We got to meet the coordinator of the school. A week later, I was sent to a random assembly, confused. I was invited to the stage. There was the teammate next to me. We got certificates! We got to shake hands of the coordinators. And that's my chess life. Next, will be my story life.
