A School's DreamA Screenplay by Martiya DamanHow does a meeting make a school happier?Principal: Ananya Singh Coordinators: Swati, Tiru Teachers: Mayra, Beeja, Adhaya, Yadavi, Sabeema (The Principal, Coordinators and Teachers sit at the table.
They were deciding what to do for the children’s happiness.) Ananya: Welcome to this meeting of Sunflower School. Tiru: Yes. We would love to know the agenda. Sabeema: There are 2 things to discuss. Tiru: What are they? Sabeema: We are lacking activities for the children. Swati: We don’t need activities. Children need to read. They
don’t even learn from activities. Sabeema: No! They do learn a lot, Swati ji. Mayra: Swati is right. Beeja: No, Listen. Sabeema is right. The children’s
creativity will be gone, and their social interaction will decrease. They will
be stressed and have no talent. Adhaya: She is right, Swati. Yadavi: Yes, we should decide activities every month. Tiru: Okay, and what about this month? Ananya: Anyone got suggestions? Sabeema: What about dance competitions? Beeja: No, we had a competition against another school a
week ago. Mayra: We should do a donation drive. Adhaya: Of what? Swati: The children can donate gifts and food to the poor.
It will make them and others happy. Ananya: Good job, Swati! Swati: It's my pleasure, Ananya ji. Sabeema: The second topic, adding Grade 9 to Grade 12. Yadavi: I agree with you. Mayra: But that will cost a lot. Plus, we don’t need high
school. Beeja: But look, there are only two schools in the village.
And children need further education. Why doesn’t our network of schools create
more? Ananya: You are right Beeja. Beeja: Yes, we do need a high school! Ananya: So, what do you think of the plan? Beeja: I am completely fine. Yadavi: I agree. (Tiru and Swati do a little bit of discussion.) Tiru: We want to add one thing. Swati: Our school needs a football field. The children need
to be healthy and strong. Ananya: Sure, we will do that. Mayra: True! I agree! Sabeema: Yes, yes! Our children will be so happy! Ananya: Thank you all for attending the meeting. And that
what brings us to the end. © 2024 Martiya DamanAuthor's Note
