Dealing with falling in love too soon.

Dealing with falling in love too soon.

A Poem by Arthur Martel

At first and maybe still
I didn't know how to cope
with something so greatly real.
I was never like this before lately,
but now all I can think is that I am crazy.
It can make you lonely because you got there too soon,
when we are apart you look down from the moon.
To those who have felt unloved will always fall in love with those who have not,
For the unloved with the unloved, together they'll rot.
I don't know if this person is the one to keep, so I
keep on moving, changing with the universe.
Hoping that my feelings and my loved one will be
willing to do the same with me.

The twist of love.
"Hoping that my feelings and my loved one will be
willing to do the same with me."
Love is hard. Need two people wanting the same things, be in the same place and to meet. Can happen. A poem with question and hope. Best kind of poetry. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

rhyme, dear martin, usually means restriction. A restriction in tone, timbre and in the limitation
of words that fit in the rhyme scheme. You're in the right place sir. So many who write here
use rhyme as their servile tenant; their vehicle for succinct expression.

"to those who have felt unloved will always fall in love with those who have not". That could be
a three line Haiku poem right there. No restriction of rhyme. No duty to it. Just the idea
that unlove is the opposite of true love. Which to me, is fascinating.

I love your style and your sincerity. But I love poetry and specifically, love poetry. But you have
to stick around and read, read, read and read some more. You can't write poetry without
reading it. If you do, you are like the bear who wakes from a six month hibernation just to
scratch claw prints on the cave wall and call it art. I mean, who's going to argue...?

well done.....dana

Hi Martin I like this one. The confusion abounds as does the sadness at not knowing what we really want or if when we might be staring it in the face (of a lover) and relying on the fates to eventually put you in the same space as your soul-mate. How many times I wonder have the fates done this and people not got the message instead repeating "Fate will bring us together"
A thought stirrer indeed Martin thank you for sharing.
