Chapter OneA Chapter by Marsh god798Hybrid
August 31 Beep, Beep,
Beep. “Uhh, what? “ Jeremy
said hitting the snooze button on the alarm clock with his right arm. As he got
up out of bed Jeremy slipped on a shirt and walked to the bathroom to give his
teeth a quick brush .After making shore that Jeremy had gotten every last spot
he walked down the plain grey carpet covered stairs then preceding through his
house which was covered in dark brown Hardwood flooring to the kitchen, seeing
his mom putting eggs and toast with a bit of butter spread on them. “Oh,
Jeremy, sit down for your last meal here, you leave for the Alice Cove Academe at
11.” Said Jeremy’s mom while grabbing two forks and two knives and setting them
on the table. As Jeremy sat down he took one of the knives
and cut his eggs then stabbing the eggs with his fork which, Jeremy than bit of and
swallowed without chewing. “ So, mom” Jeremy started,”do I have to wear my
sweater to the train station? ”
“OK, fine, just watch were was going to a school where everyone had some
sort of animal evolution and each kid where you put your tail” As Jeremy got ready, he looked in the mirror, he saw his
tall 6’6 pale white arms and face, he saw his gray eyes, his protruding nose,
his long legs, his black hair that went over his left eye, but that’s not all
he saw. Jeremy saw a large scorpion tail coming out of his lower back, and
ending just about his head, he saw his rhino like hide, on his chest and stomach
he saw his left arm, which was a scorpion pincer. Jeremy was a “hybrid”. When Jeremy got to
the previously mentioned academy he would be individually assessed to decide his
school job, class, living area, and clothing. Jeremy would be trained to use his
ability’s to their fullest to decide what job they would end up with in the
future. When Jeremy was about
to leave his mom broke the silence “I’m so proud of you, make sure you email me
every week with the exact details!” said Jeremy’s mom with fake sounding
enthusiasm. “Okay mom, I will.” replied Jeremy with a hint
of embarrassment even though there was no one there. “Is your stuff packed?”
asked Jeremy’s mom. “Yes, yes and double checked.” “Okay.”
Said Jeremy’s Mom laughing. “
“Time to go.” Jeremy said as he looked at the clock by the table. Jeremy
rose from his chair yawning and snagging the last piece of toast he charged up
the stairs with a smile starting to grow grabbed his bags and shot out the door. As Jeremy arrived at the train station he saw every one
looking at his arm and back and then walking a little faster than they already
were. “Freak.” whispered some people in the growing crowd he was attracting.
Jeremy in retaliation shouted through gritted teeth “anyone one got a problem?
Here’s one. Me, with all of you NOW GO!!!” the crowd almost instantly scattered.
Jeremy then walked into the station and read his ticket, it read “gate 14 11:00.”
Then Jeremy looked at his watch “10:56.” Jeremy than ran over to the 14th gate
and waited for the train. © 2014 Marsh god798Author's Note
