Chapter 1 - The Infinite RideA Chapter by Marshall=JuliusThis chapter is about Robert (The Father) driving and arriving at the camp grounds, and the arguing that happens in between“Are we there yet?” I sighed after what feels like the hundredth time hearing that same sentence, before I could even answer George answered for me “What do you think Hen? Do you see any people yet?” I thought to myself what did I do wrong? Why do they always have to argue? I got frustrated about to pull over the car and teach them both an important lesson, I raised my voice to the point of screaming “Why do you two always have to fight?! Your like day and night, no middle!” George knew better by now than to argue with me but Henry on the other hand. “Its Geo’s fault! He’s the one that started it, you heard!” Jane about had about enough of it, I could sense it. “Gosh darn-it! Boys listen to your father!” Henry stayed quite. A few hours of silence passed but George being the curious kid asked “What is it gonna be like when we get there?” He caught me off guard, I hadn’t even thought of that. Since I don't want worry Jane and Henry I stammered “Hard, it will be very hard but we will make it.’’ I could tell by the facial expression on George’s face was worried, but Henry and Jane didn’t quite understand my statement. Another few hours passed but those hours felt much more longer, to break the silence Jane asked “Is that the place?” before I could answer Henry murmured “course she doesn't get yelled at...’’ I glared at Henry through the mirror, he finally got the hint after about 15 seconds of me staring, I with a simple answer, answered her question“Yes darling’’ I got out the car and looked. I had seen barely anyone there, suddenly a woman approached me and asked “Hello sir your name and your age?’’ I was confused I ended up saying” Robert Elliotts my age is 29, what about’’ She cut me off, “And those people are your family, right?” Jane came out of the car looking as confused as me “Um madam what’s your name and your job?’’ She was so outspoken, she didn’t care what anyone thought of her as long as if it wasn’t bad. “Oh sorry, my name is Theresa, I take in people and sign them jobs’’ She treated my wife with respect all of a sudden “Well what's your name?’’ She politely asked, Jane mutters something under her breath and said “Jane Elliotts and I’m 32, now what about my kids?’’ ‘’Oh! My did not notice them, well how many of them?’’ I answered with 3 kids but she still waited for my wife's answer “3 of them little monsters’’ Theresa chuckled ‘'ok then, ages and names, oldest to youngest please’’ “ George Elliotts he’s 14 next month is his birthday, Henry Elliotts is 10 and Lois Elliotts is 3 years old.” “That's about it, now if you will take your children out of the car and I could show your living space. I knocked on Henry's door to signal to come out, he ignored me, of-course. I refused to be embarrassed and said ‘’I’ll follow you go ahead’’ As soon as they were far enough I went in the car and grabbed Henry out of the car and told George to get out. I put both hands on Henry's shoulders and said in a calm mad voice “ Listen Henry Judith Elliotts I don’t care who’s watching if you don’t fix up your attitude I will put you over my knee and” Before I could even finish my empty threat, I saw Henry holding back his tears even George felt bad, but I couldn’t go back the damage was already done I signed “ Henry… Just behave…” Henry just sniffed and nodded his head. We quickly caught up to Jane and Theresa. “Oh nice to see the boys catch up to us huh Jan?” Jane stayed silent. To break the silence I just gave a sympathy laugh. “Okay Janey then, heres your tent, Husband and wife get one tent the kids get the other” I didn’t even realize that I forgot to grab Lois in the heat of the moment, luckily George did. “Ok I’ll let y’all get settled in” “Thank you” I said very fake. © 2017 Marshall=Julius |
