Constant companionA Poem by Mars BearAnd old piece written during the worst of my depression.- - - - - - Her manicured nails Draw a line across my skin Leaving a thin shallow grave She plays her finger across the blood she drew Staining her hands with my life Her crimson prints stay forever ingrained upon my wrists A constant reminder of her control A reminder of her power She leaves me with thoughts of times gone by When she held my skin together Before she tore me open Made me bleed Left me for dead Once was found But now I'm lost Alone But for this darkness This cloud that follows me Keeps me shaded Blocking the sunlight of life Leaving me pale Deficient of joy Barren of hope Empty Empty of happiness Depression my mistress Pain, my wife These constant companions Torture my life © 2015 Mars BearReviews
