How I feel about my writing. Never good enough. Although it's not a competition, never feel on the same level of those I read which leads to a frustrating sadness.

Surrounded by art
I look on with tears in my eye
Knowing my brush will never paint
With the strokes of beauty
The hues of emotion
Of the masters on display

You know, you're not the first to think such things. Being an amateur writer, artist, and musician, I've beat myself up a few times over this, and know others who have, also. What works for me is to tell myself that I've not yet reached full potential, and will get better in time.
