WAR

WAR

A Poem by Marochelle Carelsen
"

The war we fight against ourselves

"
My dull and lifeless eyes saw the world passing by
The laughing of children, the love in their eyes
I smile and laugh, that's my disguise
In my mind the smile fades and I silenlty cry
All the emotions, the anger and pain
Feeling numb or emotional, it's all the same
My lips form a smile that doesn't reach my eyes
It's a constant battle between two sides
My mask is in place and working just fine
Reality and fantasy there is but a thin line
My mind says I'm happy, my heart disagrees
They constantly fight like war ready bees
A slap and a kick, a stab and a shot
My shattering thoughts are all that i've got
