Behind her eyes

Behind her eyes

A Poem by Marochelle Carelsen
"

We all wear masks

"
Behind her eyes

Her face is decorated with a smile,
Plum lips and blond ringlets,
Eyes the colour of a raging sea.

But here's the thing... it's all a lie.

Her smile falters
Her lips hold a cigarette
Her eyes...
Her eyes betray her secret.

Behind her eyes you see her suffering
Behind her eyes you see her screaming
Behind her eyes smike floats in the air
Behind her eyes she slowly disappears
