Shadowns in the NightA Poem by Marochelle CarelsenA poem loosely based on the Sarah J Maas series : Throne of GlassShadows in the Night A dark figure sprinting across lonely rooftops Cloak billowing behind, like the wings of a raven A glint of silver light Steps as soft as the whispers of the wind Feet moving faster than humanly possible The hood flies off revealing black and white A pitch black mask hiding features as sharp as a blade White hair flowing like starlight in her wake Closer to the edge, sprimting faster Legs pumping red hot fire through her veins A burst of speed A lethal leap Like an arrow flying towards its target Feet touch the ground Never stumbling Never faltering Sapphire ringed with gold looking ahead Closer Closer The targets appear Moving darkness, armed to the teeth The hiss of a blade sliding into place Near silent against the bustling street The shadows become men dressed in black Their eyes darting back and forth Searching for a threat A flick of the wrist A thud as the blade finds its mark Silence A breath released as blood soaks the stones A dagger protruding from a lifeless chest Faster than lightning, blood sprays again A gasp from a gaping throat
