Chapter 1: Bad Luck

Ever heard of being at the wrong place, at the wrong time and how badly it effects your life? Well, I think I just experienced and proved just how crappy it is, gosh I hate this. And for this to happen at school? HA, I mean I just wanted to lay low, and make a few trustworthy friends, and the most important part is to avoid the bratty populars who think they are just that sacred. My once peaceful school life came crashing down, knocking down all my wonderfully quiet day's, and breaking my invisible shield that protects me.
Here's how I started that day that would seem like all other 128 day's of 8th grade. I woke up to my brothers t.v, and got ready. You know the usual, brushing the hair, teeth, washing my face, and putting on some normal clothes. Got the old blue, ratty bag ready, and cooked some eggs. Then when it was 9:05 I grabbed the keys and walked out the back door, through the veggie and fruit garden, smelling the sweet aroma of strawberries,  and the sour smell of green onion, and off to school.
Now when I walked to school I saw my usual landmarks, such as the old grandma rocking on her old chair with a creek and a occasional crack. The lazy bums who have nothing better to do listening, to the radio on the porch. The popular couple that kiss each other for like 30 minutes, like they say Ignorance is bliss, for the one who uses it. If only I did what that wonderful quote told me.
Here is when my normal days come crashing down, burn in a hole, and disintegrate forever. Making the once uplifting blue sky, to a dull, drab of blue. Now once I walk through the school sign that say's "Welcome to Grand oak high school, the #1 best public school in the country, rated A", (yeah right) I walk my ways towards the heart of the school. The courtyard where everything is magical, not really, it's more like a communist country camouflaged as a democratic building. Now like all schools we have a classification system, we go by the old classification system.
The Royals who are at the very top are the Top populars, of course they within the Royals have higher rankings, a king, queen, prince, and princess who I don't care enough to know. Then we have the high class people, the aristocrats, the nobles, or whatever you prefer to call them. They are just regular populars, nothing really special I suppose. Then we have the merchants, which are people who are accepted by the Royals and high class. They can interact with both the higher and the lowers, just like an actual merchant, hence the name. Then you have the mid-class, they are just slightly above the low class who are normal people. Then you have the peasants who are separated by the others, and usually consists of nerds and weirdos. Then their is a special group of people who are really smart and are accepted by the higher-ups, we call them the Privileged. I know we have a  pretty complicated ranking for middle schoolers, but hey we are teens, we love to confuse others and make mischief to adults.
I belong to the lower class, though I really don't care since I would like to avoid the populars, or the "Royals and High class", they are all brats and fake people. Anyways, I was walking towards the band room to put my flute away, then a 7th grade girl called out to me, she was a High class, seeing she is surrounded by them.
She said " Hey, you, why don't you shave your legs?"
I ignored her since I want to but my flute away in the band room, and go to the library and read. But she just keeps on asking me and following me.
"Hey, I'm talking to you, don't just walk away and ignore me!" She grabbed me by the shoulder and turned me around to face her.
" I asked you, why don't you shave your legs." She said it with a bit more with force, and I think with more spit as well. I mean I'm sure I just saw one flying out of her mouth.Ew.
I was getting pissed, I mean she stopped me and brought attention to me just for that question. And that question is probably some dare or bet. So I did the best thing, I ignored her and just stared at her.
"Why do you keep on staring at me?" Because people like you usually walk away uncomfortably when I do this.
"I asked you why don't you shave your legs, are you just gross like that or something. I mean is this some type of thing the lower class just does?"
OMG, I for some unknown reason, am getting really pissed and mad, she annoys the heck out of me. She brought so many eyes on me, and stopped my peaceful morning.
I am done, flip the table, kick the chair, and yell to the world.
" What does it matter to you , whether or not I shave my leg?"  Breathe in and out, steady your anger Jacky, she is just another brat, you are smarter than this. In and out.
" You didn't answer my question, just answer the F***ing question."
What is wrong with this girl, what is so wrong with not shaving my leg. It's not like it's bushy, you can barely see it!!!
Then I saw it, she burst my calm bubble so I'm going all out, this girl doesn't even shave her own leg!
" Why don't you shave yours, huh, before asking someone else you should actually do it! You said that this was a lower class thing, well then HA, I guess this makes you a lower class. So what you just called yourself dirty right?"
She was speechless, looks like cat's got her tongue. She turned and walked away with her eye's down and face blushing red.I mean sure I went a bit to far, but she deserved it. Also I got her off my back, which let's me free from all the stares that's been staring holes through me. Until she comes along and ruins this momentary, yet sweet bliss.
"Hey Jacky, woah what's up with all the stares, it's like a funeral atmosphere." Of course it is, they all just witnessed a low class girl talk back to a High class one and win.
"Are they all looking at you?"
I wish I stopped her sooner, I should've seen this coming. I should've told her "don't do it you  idiot!"
"Hey you got a problem with my friend, huh. What are you all staring at, huh huh?"
And there it is, the stupidity has taken over. Now she is going to do her little "come at me'' stance. Which is basically suppose to be intimidating, but really isn't.
"What!? Come at me bro!" Oh my gosh, I feel a migraine coming as soon as the stares are moving towards us, again.
"Kendal, come here now, before you make things worse!"
I dragged her towards the band room, with me as quickly and quietly as I can. You may think that a "come at me bro" stance is harmless right? Well I wouldn't be to sure.
"Dude! You just made the situation worse, couldn't you read the mood back there?!" I swear this is going to bite me back in the butt one of these days.
"I don't get it. Weren't they bullying you?"
"No, they weren't!" I wished I didn't just yelled at her, I mean she was worried about me.
"Oh. Sorry, but I mean it's not like it's going to get any worse. Those populars probably forgot about all that right about now!?"
"I guess, sorry I yelled at you, thanks for worrying about me."
" That's okay, let's just go get breakfast, they have seasoned omelets today and oranges!!"
" I do like oranges, alright let's go."
I sure hope they forget about this, and that this will just blow over, and it will not get any worse.
But you know what? Luck just isn't with me today.
