Inherited by the Young-

Inherited by the Young-

A Poem by Marlowe147

Looming

Narrow and straight

the ash trees

burn to their green

stumps

Entwined

Powerfully

amongst themselves…

lumber fallen to

the war

cradles at the feet

broken and withered and

never standing again

bedded down in dry leaves

the light catches on

the thin branches

of the young

Pale fungi

grips to the

almighty.

Snow that has

survived past winter

melts in the waves of sun

the serenity

Broken

by sounds of the

New Age

The waste is inherited

Youth and Spring ..war, snow, sun and serenity.. what more could you ask for .. you are good with description and metaphors.
This says much more than is seen.
Wonderful!
