We're Slowly Drifting Apart

We're Slowly Drifting Apart

A Poem by Poet Pittinix
"

The problems of a love affair.

"

Uriella, we’re slowly drifting apart.

Tell me, dear, what’s on your mind?

You’re in my arms this moment,

But your thoughts seem to be so far away.

Who’s getting your full attention?

There’s no one else here besides us.

Your eyes no longer show the gleam of joy.

And your lips aren’t warm anymore.

Your interest in me is disappearing slowly.

You were such an exciting and amusing lady.

Baby, are you tired of being with me?

You stopped speaking to me with fervour.

I don’t see the fondness that you had for me.

Why do you hurt me when you know I love you?

You pretend that nothing is bothering you.

If you’re having an affair, be honest and say it.

Uriella, why are we slowly drifting apart?

Am I not giving you the love that you want?

Is there anything else I could do to satisfy you?

Baby, I don’t want you to drift from my life,

So I’ll keep trying to make our love work.

I really liked this, it is so painful to feel that chasm between you and your love, when they are just on the other side of the dinning room table.
