A Vain Pursuit of LoveA Poem by Poet PittinixIt's a poem of love.A svelte girl recently moved to the neighbourhood. Her transcendent beauty catches my eyes. I greet her warmly when she’s walking past my gate. She told me her name, and I told her mine. I wonder if she’s interested in middle-aged men. Every time I look at her, it breaks my heart. Her charm and her seductive walk captivate me. And I believe I’m falling in love with her. I didn’t want this to happen at my age, For if I fall in love with her, she might reject me. I’m hesitant about telling Katie I have feelings for her, For I don’t think she’ll fall in love with me. I pursued other pretty girls whom I loved, But regrettably, I didn’t win the love of any of them. I don’t want to pursue a girl in vain again. All the girls of my past love affairs pursued me. I don’t know how it feels to pursue a girl successfully. If Katie makes advances to me, I’ll date her, But that’s not how I want things to turn out. I want her to accept me when I express my love to her. © 2024 Poet PittinixAuthor's Note
