I'll Try

This is a poem of love.

I can’t tell you all the nice things you’d like to hear,

But I’ll try to make you happy the best way I can.

I’ll try to be polite and speak to you respectfully.

 

I don’t even know how to show my feelings for you,

But I’ll try to convince you that my love is true.

I’ll try to satisfy your physical and emotional needs.

 

I’m not sure if I can spend the rest of my life with you,

But I’ll try to stay with you for a very long time.

I’ll try to provide any reasonable thing you request.

 

I can’t prevent my eyes from seeing other women,

But I’ll try to be faithful to you if you marry me.

I’ll try to appreciate you and focus on your beauty.

 

I might not be able to fulfil your greatest desire,

But I’ll try to love and comfort you most of the time.

And I’ll try to keep every promise I’ve made to you.
