Careless with Love

Careless with Love

A Poem by Poet Pittinix
"

It's a poem of love and blues.

"

Saya is the only woman that I’ve ever truly loved.

I was careless with our love, and I lost her.

And I thought I’d never see her baby face again.

Fortunately, fate brought us back together,

But I was still careless with love, and I lost her twice.

This time I don’t think I’m going to get her back.

I abandoned her in the south plain a year ago.

Now I’m in the mountainous region of the west.

Two hundred kilometres away from her, I sit and ponder.

She gave me something to live for each day.

Why did I turn my back on someone who loves me?

She doesn’t deserve to be treated this way.

I made the stupidest decision of my life.

She desperately gripped my hand to soften me,

But I pulled it out of her grasp in the hurricane.

I didn’t think I was going to lose her for good.

Who’d have anticipated such a traumatic conclusion?

I know how it feels to lose the one I love twice.

My loss is the greatest loss that has ever occurred.

Will she ever give me another chance to love her?

I seriously doubt that she wants me back,

But if she does, I’ll never be careless with love again.

And I couldn’t be more certain about this.

Now I know what she really means to me.

Too bad it took losing her twice to appreciate her.
