A Conversation with a Chinese GirlA Poem by Poet PittinixThis is a poem about a secret attraction. We
communicate on social media. I send you my
pictures and you send me yours. Miss Yen, do
you love me? “Yes, I do
love you.” I knew it,
Miss Yen. “What do you
mean by you knew it?” We’ve been
having tempting conversations. And you haven’t
been playing hard to get. I sensed your
feelings for me, But I wanted to
be sure of it, So I had to
ask you the question directly. “I didn’t realize
it was that obvious?” You admitted
it so quickly. Most girls
wouldn’t answer right away. “We’ve been chatting
up to each other for some time.” “Did you
expect me to say no?” No, I’m glad
you said yes. “So what’s
the problem?” I think we’re
going to regret what we’re doing. “What are you
saying, Mr. Chu?” I love you
too, Miss Yen, But we shouldn’t
have fallen for each other. We’re not going
to get anywhere with this. And you know the
reason. “Yes, I know
that you’re married.” “So what are
we going to do now?” To be honest,
I don’t know. I was about
to ask you the same thing. “Is that all
you can say?” I’m just as
guilty as you are. Both of us were
aware of the situation. We shouldn’t
blame each other for what’s happening. Although
we’re hurting ourselves, It doesn’t
seem that we intend to quit. “You’re right;
I can’t stop loving you.” I can’t
dismiss my feelings for you either. © 2024 Poet PittinixAuthor's Note
