My cat

Just a poem about a cat and it's grumpy owner

My cat.

My cat bites me

My cat scratches me

My cat hates wakes me up in the middle in the night just because her food bowl is half empty


You ask me, shouldn't I hate her?

Doesn't she only use me?



Maybe.


But everytime I walk past her and see her laying on the couch, peacefully sleeping,

I remember the days when she was still a young kitten

I remember the unconditional love that stood between us


When I look at her like that, I can't help to think that it's my fault

It's my fault she hates me

I didn't spend enough time with her

I didn't feed her right

I didn't listen to her and put my needs before hers


I can't blame her.

And well, since it's all my fault, I'm not exactly the one in the place to hate her

Am I?

I enjoyed this poem because of course I'm a cat lover and have come to understand these incredibly beguiling creatures. To me they are more closer to human than most other creatures. And they are unique individual in personality like we are. Cats don't love freely you truly have to earn both their trust and love. They demand you put in the work and prove yourself to them. But they are fiercely loyal once you have earned their love. It's never to late to win your cat's trust again. Thank you for sharing your poem.
