Love's Call To DutyA Poem by MarkWhen a kingdom is threatened, the bonds of love must be tested.
Carpets of crimson and curtains of blue,
Do decorate the castle of Queen Jordie poo. Where she lives with her King, tall and dark, The one that goes by the name of Sir Mark! Queen Jordie was loved by all of her people, They put up her statue atop the church steeple. Her King made it his top priority to be, Always there for sweet darling Jordie. Then one day dark men on black beasts, Could be seen approaching the Castle from the east. The town's men readied their weapons and selves to fight, For they knew it was their duty, and right! King Mark tried to tell Queen Jordie to go hide, But she insisted she would rather be buried alive. She told her King, "This is my deepest fantasy, To be on the battlefield, so let me be free." So the King had a special gift created, By the blacksmith (who he by-the-way hated). It was the best gift he had given her in all of her life, A suit of armor made to fit his beloved wife. Now see them standing atop a grassy hill, Watching the approaching danger, and marking their kills. They take one last look into each others eyes, And then charge forward, with no need for goodbyes.
