Chapter 42- From The Inside

Chapter 42- From The Inside

A Chapter by Marked4Sin

'You're lying,' Eli questioned more than stated. I shook my head, 'Ohmy... ohmygod,' he sank down into the chair next to him.
I looked over at Raven, desperately. She was crying but nodded in understanding. Hot tears threatened to escape from me as well but I tried my best to hold it back. 'I'm so sorry,' I whispered.
'Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?' Eli said.
'I didn't know until today, I swear,' I walked over to Eli once again and hugged him. 'I'm so sorry, Eli. I had no idea that this was going to happen. Maybe if we talk about this, we can get it figured out.'
He pulled away from me and stood up, looking down at me. 'I don't want to talk about it, Alice. Get rid of it or I'll do it for you,' he threatened. Before anyone could say a word, he walked out the still open front door.
There was a bang from the trash can being kicked outside. Raven walked over and hugged me, 'We'll figure this out Ali, I promise.'
I hugged her back with all my might, 'You're not mad?'
She shook her head, 'I've already forgiven you for what happened, this is just a consequence of it. Why get mad at you twice for the same thing?' She pulled away and kissed my cheek in a sisterly way. 'I love you, Alice. I'm going to try and help you the best I can, but right now I need to go calm Eli down.'
I nodded, a tear falling. 'Be careful,' I called as she walked out the door. All that was left in the room was Nick, Austin, and I. Nadia must've went to the room to check on Kitty and Noah. It was just one problem after another, wasn't it?
Austin and Nick were having a stare down which made me quite uncomfortable. I thought quickly, I had to ease the tension so another fight didn't start for whatever reason. 'Ready to go, Austin?'
That caught the attention of both of them, 'What?' Nick started.
'Yeah, I'm ready.'
'You're still going with him on a date? I thought you and I were-'
'Dude, she's leaving with me. Quit your pathetic whining.'
'Excuse me?' Nick glared at Austin.
'Let's go, babe,' Austin held his hand out towards me. I took it and began walking towards the door, not wanting to see the hurt look on Nick's face. I would explain everything to him later. If he wasn't mad at me still. He helped me into his Eclipse and got in on the other side. 'Okay, so I was thinking we could go to this new restaurant that just opened up in town. And after that, I wanna show you this amazing place I found, hanging with some of my friends,' he rambled on as we drove off. I was too busy staring at the silhouette that loitered my front door. 'Alice?'
I turned my attention to Austin, 'Hm?'
He looked at me for a second before turning his focus back to driving, 'Do you want me to turn around and drop you off? You seem like you're not looking forward to being on a date with me.'
He looked hurt which made me feel guilty. I rubbed my eyes, 'No, it's not that. I love that I'm finally going on a date with you. It's just.. I have a lot going on right now so I'm kinda out of it.'
It took him a moment before he responded, 'Well, look at this as a day off from all the drama. Let's forget that you're.. yeah. Let's just forget everybody else in the world and focus on having fun. Agreed?'
I smiled and looked back at the road that lay in front of me. I'd much prefer having fun that the drama that waited for me when I got home. Yes, I was in love with Nick but we weren't together really. Besides, I'd been waiting for Austin to ask me out for years and this was the chance to find out how it really was. Nobody really seemed to like Nick. Eli and Austin hated him, the others were all still suspicious except Raven. Maybe that was a sign that we were just never meant to be...
Austin pulled me out of my depressing mood when he turned the radio up and started singing along with it. 'Your thighs were made for cheeks to graze, my lips your poison!'
I smirked at his horrible singing and joined him when my favorite part came up. 'One step too late, and I never told you that I can't take another disappointment. Breathing and grasping all leads to another messy ending. Breathing and grasping all leads to another messy ending. Ten inch! With your back against the wall! With your face buried in the pillow! I see you cold, I feel you heartless. B***h, you stupid f*****g b***h. You stupid f*****g b***h! F*****g b***h.'
We both laughed when the song ended and high-fived each other. 'God, I love that song!' Austin said.
'Me too, it's my favorite out of all of their songs.'
'My favorite.. would have to be a tie between 'A Candlelit Dinner With Inamorata' and 'If You Can't Ride Two Horses At Once'.'
'Those are good ones,' I giggled. 'What about with A7X?'
'I like their older stuff, it's more hardcore. Nowadays their losing their touch. My favorite that I could listen to all day would be 'Forgotten Faces'.'
I leaned my head back in the seat, 'I like their new stuff, 'Nightmare' or 'A Little Piece Of Heaven'.'
'Ohmygod, yes. Have you seen the video to 'A Little Piece Of Heaven'?'
I grinned, 'Yes! Ohmygosh, I love how they get married! It's like so ironic, 'Do you take this man in death, for the rest of your unnatural life?''
'I like how each of the skeletons represents each of the band members.' He laughed.
'Yeah, they're cute. I love the little pictures they have at the end of the video of them drinking some man's brain like it's a milkshake.'
We kept talking about all the things we loved about different bands. I began to realize that Austin and I more in common than Nick and I did. Opposites attract? Nick liked rock but not the hard stuff like I did. I was raised around Austin so I knew him better than I did Nick, who remained a mystery half the time. I was in almost all of Austin's memories, I didn't appear in Nick's until everything happened. I shook my head, trying not to think about it.
'Metallica has never really been my favorite,' he continued without noticing that I'd zoned out. 'But yeah, remember when you, Eli, Raven, and I went to one of their concerts and a fight broke out in front of us and we had to jump on stage to get away from it?'
I nodded, smiling, 'Yeah, and then you stole a mic and started singing along. You were so bad they kicked us out!'
He laughed, 'Hey, hey, hey now. The only reason I sang so bad was cuz I was high as f**k. We all were!'
'You still sing like someone ran you over,' I taunted.
'I'm an excellent singer thank you very much!' he stuck his tongue out at me. 'We're here.'
