How Long?

How Long?

A Poem by Dave

                                       How Long?
Before the guns are silent and babies cry no
more,
when mothers, wives need not fear the dread of
night.
Children can rest assured that they are and will
be safe,
their next meal, safe haven won't be in a distant
land.
When missiles and bombs don't tear their home,
lives apart.
How long will the rest of us watch in indignation,
on our hands.

I am afraid as long as we all live on this rock called earth such things could never end, perhaps in the afterlife

This one poses a question that has been asked in one form or another for ages. How can people let these things happen? Of course, there is no answer now. The only hope is evolution of the spirit.

You ask an important question here. Dave. No one wants this situation to escalate but with the totally unpredictable behaviour of Putin, I believe he will force the issue himself. I can't see this being put to bed for a while. In the meantime all you eloquently write about in your lines continues to break hearts. All good wishes for Easter.
